Your Job

Molex is seeking a driven Design Engineer to join our Manufacturing Solutions Automation Team. This role works in an innovative and globally collaborative team based out of Molex's Lincoln Nebraska manufacturing facility. In this role you will be concepting, developing, and quoting advanced assembly processes across out transportation solutions division.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills; the ability to multi-task and prioritize; be a solutions-driven individual who is energized to solve problems and actively pursue what is needed


Our Team

Molex's TIS (Transportation and Innovative Solutions) business unit is a segment within Molex that specializes in providing connectivity solutions and technologies tailored for the transportation and industrial sectors. This unit focuses on developing and delivering a wide array of products and solutions that cater to the specific needs of these industries. These solutions often involve connectors, cables, components, and integrated systems that address connectivity, data transmission, and control system requirements in transportation (such as automotive and commercial vehicles) and various industrial applications.

  • Design and develop automation solutions for manufacturing.

  • Innovate processes
    • Seek and develop cutting edge technologies for manufacturing processes
    • Give Molex a comparative advantage in connector manufacturing
    • Collaborate with our global automation and manufacturing teams
  • Project and Vendor management
    • Work as an automation specialist with outside vendors
    • Act as project manager for outside vendor projects
    • Help write and revise automation machine specifications


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Availability for 5-25% Travel Domestically and Internationally
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years of mechanical design experience

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience and familiarity with a revision control and structured change/ECO management processes
  • Working knowledge of complex tolerance analyses
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5-2009
