We are looking for a mission driven Dental Assistant I to join our team! The Level I Dental Assistant (DA I) perform many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills as they relate to patient care, laboratory duties, and office duties. They work chairside as Dentists examine and treat patients. They make patients as comfortable as possible in the dental chair, prepare them for treatment, and obtain their dental records. The DA I hands instruments and materials to the Dentist, and they keep patients' mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices. The DA I also sterilizes/disinfects instruments and equipment, prepares trays of instruments for dental procedures, and instructs patients on postoperative and general oral health care.

This is a full-time position located on our main campus (30th & L). The schedule will be 40 hours per week; generally, Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm.

To ensure the safety of our patients, employees, and communities, OneWorld Community Health Centers is recommending all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- High School diploma or equivalent required.

- Graduation from a dental assisting program preferred.

- Prior training in dental assisting required.

- Six or more months of dental assisting experience preferred.

- Successful completion of Level I skills assessment required.

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

- Coronal polishing certification required.

- Radiography certification required.

- Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products required; experience with an Electronic Dental Record required.

- Proficiency in English required for all locations; proficiency in Spanish required or preferred depending on clinic location and need.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with OneWorld patients and staff, and to provide excellent customer service.

- Demonstrated organizational skills, with a high attention to detail.

- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of the dental team, while exhibiting a positive attitude towards working together to get the job done.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.

- Ability and willingness to work at other clinic locations if/when needed for coverage purposes.
