The Sales and Operations Manager is responsible for the growth and performance of a large construction center within a designated area. The Sales and Operations Manager will direct and coordinate all operational activities to meet or exceed budget while promoting positive attitudes and a culture of safety and teamwork.

Essential Functions

  • Takes a creative approach to identify opportunities to expand the reach and impact of the construction center; collaborating cross-functionally to develop, implement, and drive continuous improvement and growth strategies.
  • Oversees construction center employees and ensures operational activities run efficiently; developing and implementing processes and procedures to drive crew-sales teamwork; monitoring individual and construction center performance and adherence to company policies and procedures, implementing disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Provides hands-on expertise and direction to salesforce as needed, assisting in the sales process for complex projects and the scheduling of materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Assists Area Crew Supervisors in optimizing jobsite productivity; understanding customer service requirements on construction related issues; executing special site safety plans; creating corrective action plans on all jobs behind budget; monitoring project closeout and expediting punch list items to ensure prompt final payments.
  • Participates in the Monday Morning Meetings; providing updated sales and revenue forecasts, setting customer and scheduling priorities, and holding personnel accountable to forecast and goal attainment; maintaining close communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Manages and delivers the annual budget for the construction center; driving hours, revenue and earnings through the monitoring of construction center performance, customer satisfaction, and safety; providing direction for crew, sales and marketing efforts to ensure adequate backlog with minimal stay outs.
  • Supports talent management by setting headcount expectations, assisting with headcount planning, and participating in the assessment, selection, onboarding, and development of construction and sales personnel; ensuring adequate staffing levels to achieve budget and grow the business.
  • Fosters a culture of safety by serving as a safety advocate for Morton Buildings, Inc., enforcing adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Education and Experience

    • 2-year degree in a related field and 5 years of experience in construction, sales, or customer service or a combination of education and experience
    • Proven history of success in selling or customer service
    • Knowledge of or ability to learn internal sales processes
    • Prior P&L (profit & loss) experience is highly desired
    • OSHA 30-hour course
    • Preferred experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 for CRM and Operations
    • Ability to collaborate with people from across the organization, including working with cross-functional teams
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to maintain confidential information
    • Dedicated to creating an environment focused on safety, quality, continual process improvement, and profitability
    • Promotes teamwork and demonstrates leadership skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook email, Word, and Excel
    • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
    • Must be able to travel
