About the role:

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, Digital Engineering Platforms, the Senior Director, Head of Digital Web Platform will play a critical role in driving innovation and growth for the Banking Solutions business. In a leadership role in the Digital Technology organization, you will be responsible for transforming our talent and driving the development and implementation of next generation digital products. With a focus on digital software engineering and execution, you will collaborate closely with product leaders, and other stakeholders to align on product milestones and deliver innovative digital applications and experiences. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the company's digital transformation journey, drive customer-centric innovation, and position the organization as a leader in the competitive digital banking landscape.

What you will be doing:

  • Partnering closely with the broader Digital Engineering organization, and Banking product organization to define and deliver a modern, scalable, mobile platform as the backbone for next generation solutions that will drive market share and delight customers with a compelling user experience.
  • Delivering high-quality and performant technology solutions to our clients and customers for a product area in the Digital Solutions business.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence. This includes identifying and attracting high-quality talent, as well as upskilling the existing team.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the digital mobile space, bringing innovative ideas and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and manage dependencies in the digital roadmap, prioritizing key foundational mobile features and enhancements that align with the company's vision.
  • Participating in discussions with clients and customers to gather feedback and ensure that digital products meet their requirements and expectations.
  • Driving and exemplifying engineering best practices and standards, while managing technology debt. Ensure the company continues to drive process improvement and migration to modern architectures and infrastructure.
  • Deliver a best-in-class mobile architecture using cross-platform and mobile native technologies to be leveraged by a scaled engineering organization to deliver mobile applications to clients and customers.
  • Deliver and own the foundation for all Digital mobile applications inclusive of global code packages, design systems, DevSecOps pipeline, QA frameworks, SDKs and any mobile capabilities needed horizontally across the Digital organization.
  • Define mobile best practices and standards for building mobile experiences and the associated processes for leveraging them.
  • Define and implement mobile-specific QA practices and approaches with a goal of high-quality automated mobile releases.
  • Define and implement mobile release processes and automated path to production leveraging best-in-class DevSecOps solutions.
  • Define and implement best-in-class mobile observability suite to ensure production stability, performance, and quality.

What you will need:

  • 7-10 years of Engineering experience, with multiple years of leadership experience building high-performing, best in class mobile architectures and engineering teams in a high-growth software product environment.
  • In-depth mobile engineering experience and experience in the migration of legacy mobile applications to next generation mobile platforms.
  • Strong track-record of building out market leading consumer facing mobile products, on-time and with quality.
  • Significant experience building high volume mobile applications leveraging mobile native and cross-platform technologies, and modern architectural patterns (modularized microfrontends), ideally in a "you build it, you run it" model.
  • Deep technical knowledge of mobile technologies, frameworks, pipelines, and tooling
  • Proven track record of hiring, managing, mentoring, and retaining top-performing engineering professionals, and inspiring and leading engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding and commitment to software engineering principles and processes (e.g., Lean, Agile, DevOps) and continuous improvement through measurement.
  • Deep understanding of security and compliance for managing data, ideally in a regulated industry.
  • Excellent communicator, highly innovative with a low ego, capable of motivating and energizing direct reports and peers, with a proven ability to create a highly collaborative working environment.
  • Preferred degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar relevant field preferred

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $171,910.00 - $288,820.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
